Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Endoscopy Department, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist endoscopists with endoscopy procedures, handling instruments and anticipating their needs.
  • Clean and disinfect all equipment according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Test disinfectant solutions for effectiveness daily and record results.
  • Re-supply procedure rooms with standard supplies and maintain endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment.
  • Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
  • Assist in transportation of patients within the department and hospital when necessary.
  • Observe patient condition while in the procedure room and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure equipment and supplies are stored securely.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
  • Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
