Key Responsibilities of the Operating Room Nurse:
  • Maintain sterility and safety protocols in the surgical environment
  • Demonstrate effective multitasking and patient assessment skills
  • Anticipate the needs of both the surgical team and patients
  • Exhibit sound judgment in emergency situations
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding surgical procedures
  • Act as a communication bridge between the surgical team and patient families
  • Document care accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare the surgical area for procedures
  • Monitor patient status throughout the surgical process
  • Ensure proper handling of specimens and surgical instruments
  • Maintain a sterile field during operations
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the availability of necessary supplies

Compensation Range: Competitive hourly rate

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within five years of hire
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a relevant nursing role
  • Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification required
Physical Requirements:

This position involves prolonged standing, bending, and reaching. Additional physical demands include repetitive motions, effective communication skills, and the ability to lift, push, or pull as necessary. Exposure to various elements may occur.
