Purpose Statement: Conducts routine and repetitive inspection tasks to verify quality standards at different stages of production. Performs visual inspections of sub-assemblies and high-level assembly products using magnification tools and sampling methods, or through comprehensive inspection.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage in root cause analysis as necessary.
  • Input standardized data into the GSF system.
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Execute routine inspection tasks to uphold quality standards throughout production. Utilize magnification tools for visual inspections of sub-assemblies and high-level assembly products, employing sampling or complete inspection methods.
  • Keep supervisors updated and escalate issues as required.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of a middle school certificate is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with the PCBA manufacturing process (SMT, Backend) is essential.
  • At least six months of relevant experience in manufacturing is required; one year or more is preferred.
  • Intermediate experience in electronic manufacturing, including knowledge of workmanship standards, is advantageous.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the key job responsibilities may be considered.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Advanced reading, writing, and math skills are necessary (i.e., 12th-grade level).
  • Inspection proficiency.
  • Understanding of PCBA and high-level assembly product builds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all company and customer information.
  • Must complete training and achieve certification in Quality Assurance within six months of starting the position, maintaining certification thereafter.
  • Basic computer skills are required (i.e., keyboarding, basic mouse usage, opening and closing programs and files using Google Workspace or MS Windows) and familiarity with relevant Plexus software packages.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to handle a PCB by turning, flipping, and angling it.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision for using computer monitors, keyboards, and inspection equipment, meeting visual acuity standards.
  • General office equipment and materials.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role operates in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment with required personal protective equipment. Facilities provide comfortable temperatures, low noise levels, and appropriate lighting for tasks. Physical stamina and strong manual dexterity are necessary for precise measurement tasks and handling delicate tools and components. Visual inspections may require acute near vision and continuous use of magnifiers, cameras, and other vision systems. The role involves significant periods of standing and sitting, with occasional lifting, moving materials, and working around equipment as needed. It may also include repetitive computer tasks across various software applications for creating, editing, and saving quality records.
Travel Requirements:
  • Less than 40% travel may be required.
