Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Special Assets Department as Director of Special Assets. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of commercial lending, risk management, and asset recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the activities of the Commercial Special Asset Officers and oversee the Consumer and Small Business Special Assets Director to ensure efficient and timely collection or workout efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize the recovery of interest and principal of high-risk loans and OREO properties.
  • Provide guidance on workout strategies, loan or forbearance recommendations, foreclosure/liquidation of real or personal property, transfers and sales of OREO, and approve actions when the officer's authority is exceeded.
  • Monitor and report on risk ratings, accrual status, and collateral valuations of the Department loans and OREO.
  • Identify and mitigate department processes and procedural risks, and create and update policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and promote teamwork within the department and organization.
  • Strive to increase department and Bank efficiencies to decrease costs and simplify processes.
Requirements
  • 10 years of increasing responsibility of managing a Commercial Loan or Special Assets portfolio with high-risk loans and complex borrowing structures.
  • 5 years of supervisorial or management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a team comprised of direct and indirect reports.
  • Advanced knowledge of secured and unsecured lending practices, documentation, and legal requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Consumer loan collection regulations and laws.
  • Advanced accounting skills and a good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
