Research Opportunities at the Commonwealth of Virginia

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our research team as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will be involved in ongoing research activities on violence prevention and developmental psychopathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct day-to-day research and scholarly activities, including manuscript and grant preparation, participant recruitment, data analysis, and literature reviews.
  • Develop and maintain databases, ensure IRB protocol compliance, and disseminate research at local and national conferences.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field.
  • Proficient quantitative data analysis skills, including experience with statistical packages (SPSS).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Publication history in the field of violence/aggression.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success of independent research.
  • Experience conducting clinical interviews and neurocognitive assessments.
  • Experience conducting or sound knowledge of trauma-informed interventions.
