Job Title: Rehabilitation Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Psychologist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide expert psychological services to individuals with disabilities, maximizing their independence in living skills and employment activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical psychological assessments of adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, neurological disorders, and other disabling conditions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions, including psychoeducation, behavioral management, pain management, and cognitive behavior therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to improve patient outcomes and provide consultation to referral sources.
  • Prepare and submit timely documentation, including reports and progress notes, and maintain practice credentials.
Teaching and Research:
  • Provide didactic and informal presentations in university and community settings.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of fellows, housestaff, and students assigned to the rehab team.
  • Participate in research activities and support ongoing and new projects as appropriate.
Service:
  • Participate in university and department committees as requested.
  • Contribute to the field of Psychology through professional organizations.
  • Represent the department in official meetings and attend scheduled Grand Rounds and staff conferences.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology and licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the state of Virginia.
  • Internship/Post-Doc training with relevant experience in rehabilitation, neurology, or health psychology.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
