Pediatric GI Psychologist Opportunity at VCU Health

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric GI Psychologist to join our team at VCU Health. As a member of our academic unit, you will have the opportunity to contribute to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Provide guidance and mentorship to residents and chief residents in pediatric GI/psychology.
  • Scholarship: Engage in reasonable scholarly activities, such as program evaluation, research, publications, and presentations at national meetings.
  • Service: Serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees and participate in professional organizations.
  • Clinical: Serve as a psychologist in the Psychiatry Child and Adolescent Psychology Division and in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
Requirements:
  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Counseling from an APA-accredited doctoral program.
  • Virginia licensed or eligible.
  • Experience in treating patients ages birth to 21 with gastroenterological disorders, with an emphasis on pediatric motility and functional GI disorders.
  • Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sub-board certification and/or additional graduate degree.
  • Experience with non-pharmacological management of GI disorders.
  • Research experience, program evaluation, and/or publications.
  • Experience with advocacy at local, state, and national levels.
