Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Psychologist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be involved in ongoing research activities on the topics of violence prevention and developmental psychopathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct day-to-day research and scholarly activities, including manuscript and grant preparation, participant recruitment, data analysis, and literature reviews.
  • Develop and maintain databases, ensure IRB protocol compliance, and disseminate research at local and national conferences.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research to develop and implement research projects.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field.
  • Proficient quantitative data analysis skills, including experience with statistical packages (SPSS).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Publication history in the field of violence/aggression.
  • Demonstrated success in independent research and experience conducting clinical interviews and neurocognitive assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting or sound knowledge of trauma-informed interventions.
  • Interest in forensic/clinical psychology and intervention research.
