Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN)

We are seeking a qualified Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) with one (1) or more years of general MedSurg/Tele LVN experience for the inpatient unit at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC).

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) at SAMMC, you will be responsible for observing, assessing, and recording symptoms, reactions, and progress; assisting physicians during treatments and examinations; administering medication and prescribed treatments; completing admissions and discharges; and promoting convalescence and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observes and assesses patients' conditions for potential or life-threatening crises and distinguishes between normal and abnormal physical findings.

• Initiates life-saving measures in the absence of a physician, depending on position and protocol, may serve as a member of the resuscitation or emergency code team.

• Manually and/or electronically documents all patient care given and the progress of the patient utilizing the SAMMC/WHASC documentation standards in the patients' medical record.

Requirements:

• 1 year or more of full-time experience within the last 5 years working as an LVN in a Medical or Surgical unit.

• Must be able to pass a background check for government clearance.

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing by the National League of Nursing.

• Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN/LPN Nursing license from ANY US Jurisdiction.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
