Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to students and staff using school health protocols and individualized health plans.
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures.
  • Carry out mandatory screening programs, collect data, and complete required reports.
  • Collaborate with campus administrators, school counselors, teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student health needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, Texas Department of Health rule, State Board of Education rule, and board policy in health services area.
Requirements:
  • Valid Texas license (LVN) issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
  • Current cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificates.
  • One (1) year experience in health-related position; experience working with school-age children.
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds) may be required.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $37,918 - $48,887, based on previous experience. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
