Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing quality healthcare services to our students and staff.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for implementing individual student health plans, providing direct care to students, and working under the direct and indirect guidance of a licensed registered nurse. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to implement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to students, utilizing professional assessment skills, the nursing process, and established school health protocols.
  • Work under the direct and indirect guidance of a licensed registered nurse.
  • Implement individual student health plans, provide health education, and promote a healthful school environment.
  • Assist with screening activities, including weight/height, vision/hearing, scoliosis, lice screening, and Type II Diabetes screening.
  • Use Universal precautions Procedures when cleaning all body spills and providing wound care.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, state and local public health rules, and board policy in health services area.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited professional L.V.N. nursing education program.
  • Hold or pursue certification on basic first aid and cardio pulmonary resuscitation.
  • Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use the computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Ability to physically transfer students with limited mobility.
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions, and be able to lift, transfer, and assist students with physical disabilities.
