Behavioral Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team in providing in-home consultation services for individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Special Education, or a related field, and be Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed in the State of Connecticut (LBA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the function(s) of challenging behaviors exhibited by individuals in the home setting.
- Develop Individualized Behavior Support Plans to design comprehensive behavior intervention plans based on the findings of the FBA.
- Provide Direct Consultation to offer hands-on guidance and support to caregivers and other relevant stakeholders in implementing behavior support strategies effectively within the home environment.
- Training and Education to provide training sessions for caregivers, family members, and other individuals involved in the care of the individual, focusing on teaching behavior management techniques, data collection methods, and strategies for promoting skill acquisition and independence.
- Collaboration and Communication to maintain regular communication with caregivers, families, and other team members to ensure continuity of care and consistency in implementing behavior support plans.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Special Education, or a related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed in the State of Connecticut (LBA).
- Two years of experience within Behavioral Health Services and/or with persons with autism.
- Two years of experience assisting with the development of behavioral programs for persons with disabilities.
- Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Must maintain PMT and CPR certification.
- Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Communicate clearly in oral and written form on a constant basis.
- Work independently; utilize good judgment and possess a strong sense of initiative.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Move and lift weights up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Requires frequent viewing of computer screen, continual eye coordination and hand/wrist movement and finger manipulation.
