This role requires an associate's degree or higher. The position demands an 8:30am start time.
Autism Behavioral Health has three center locations around Connecticut: Danbury, Trumbull, and Waterbury. Services are also provided in home and community settings throughout the state.
We work with children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder, promoting autism awareness and acceptance in the community and populations we serve.
Our mission is to provide treatment interventions that foster personal development and facilitate living a full, dignified life.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide in-home or center-based services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder as determined by the Clinical Manager and Director's discretion.
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis treatment (ABA), including behavior management, discrete trial training, pivotal response training, social skills, and parent education.
- Collect data using an accurate and proper data collection system throughout each session.
- Attend family and team meetings as directed by the Clinical Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned or approved by the Clinical Manager or Clinical Director.
Company-provided Registered Behavior Technician training and testing is available for employees after 90 days.
Job Requirements:- Prefers a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or other related fields.
- Self-motivated, responsible, honest, articulate, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Presents a professional demeanor, is well-organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent time management skills.
- Maintains professional boundaries and composure, and works well under pressure.
- Comfortable working in homes (studio apartments, housing projects, etc.) of families with limited resources.
- Politely interacts with individuals and families who may be uncooperative or aloof.
- Implements behavior modification strategies and discrete trial teaching under agency supervision.
- Effectively communicates with others (clients, family members, agency staff, etc.).
- Able to accept, follow, and implement direction from agency representatives.
- Creates a positive and supportive environment for clients and families.
- Meets the physical demands of the job, including standing, sitting, twisting, kneeling, bending over, crouching down, walking, and sitting/play on the floor for an extended period.
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 40 pounds without assistance from another adult.
- Has reliable transportation and current liability insurance for the vehicle.
