Job Summary

The Pauley Heart Center at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Technician to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for performing echocardiogram and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging analysis, utilizing advanced software and techniques to evaluate heart structure and function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct image analysis using quantitative mapping techniques and various imaging software to evaluate cardiovascular, skeletal muscle, and adipose tissue.
  • Complete anatomical and functional cardiac analyses, including ejection fraction, left ventricular volumes, and strain.
  • Prepare and store image analysis results, and disseminate data to approved staff and research collaborators.
  • Support the MRI Core Lab infrastructure, including creating and maintaining schedules for projects and attending research meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience performing cardiovascular image analysis and clinical research.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of imaging software currently in use, including TomoVision, Circle, MEDIS, and MIMP.
  • Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as medical terminology.
