Job Summary

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team. As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting our active and growing research program in Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of clinical research studies from initiation to close-out, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Conduct clinical research activities as authorized by the Principal Investigator's documented Delegation of Authority and Training Logs.
  • Collaborate with department administrative staff and the School of Medicine Office of Research Administration to coordinate the initiation processes for research projects.
  • Maintain current CITI credentials for Human Subjects Protections, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Clinical Research Coordinator certifications.
  • Understand and adhere to all IRB requirements, Human Subjects protection regulations, and all aspects of IRB-approved protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of progressively responsible work experience.
  • Able to complete mandatory competencies and certifications required by VCU, individual clinical trials, and the NIG Human Subject Protection training required by federal regulations for research skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RN, NP, or LPN eligible for license in VA preferred or demonstrated clinical background preferred.
  • Active license such as CMA, CNA, EMT, RN, LPN, etc.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Experience using Excel, REDCap, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS).
