Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Neonatal Care Specialist to join our team at UT Health Science Center.

Job Summary

The Advanced Neonatal Care Specialist will provide comprehensive care to critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit. This includes conducting independent and physician-supervised rounding, performing relevant patient evaluations and assessments, and providing appropriate treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex patient care procedures requiring experience and specialized training
  • Perform physical examinations and provide episodic care under the supervision of a physician
  • Order laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests and interpret results
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare charts for review and counter signature by physician
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform within the scope of practice prescribed by licensure and certification
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing as NP or a Master's degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program
  • Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse and APRN-NP
  • Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding FNP certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty
  • BLS certification or specialty certification as required by department
