The Senior Financial Accountant at MedReview will be responsible for overseeing daily high-level accounting functions within the organization, ensuring the timely and precise documentation of financial transactions and the generation of financial reports. This role is integral to the finance team and reports directly to the Finance Director. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in transaction recording, monthly closing activities, general ledger management, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
This list is not exhaustive and the candidate should be prepared to take on additional tasks as necessary to support the department and MedReview as a whole.
- Monitor daily banking operations to detect fraudulent activities and manage new ACH debit payees.
- Communicate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable regarding financial activities related to each department.
- Document all miscellaneous deposits and withdrawals not associated with AR or AP in NetSuite.
- Generate client invoices based on supporting documentation.
- Initiate Bill Payments, Wire Transfers, ACH transactions, and manage ACH payment activities through online banking.
- Assist the Finance Director with the 401K Audit process.
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, follow up on reconciling items, and post banking transactions.
- Prepare and upload transactions related to retirement plans.
- Maintain internal records of retirement plan contributions and provide calculations for fund transfers to third-party administrators.
- Coordinate annual and periodic audits of financial statements; gather necessary account information and documentation for the annual audit.
- Support third-party accounting firms in the preparation and submission of Federal, State, and local tax forms.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process for the organization.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- In-depth knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles, as well as GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software applications.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Namely and NetSuite is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to comprehend visual and auditory information for effective communication.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and other office equipment necessary for assigned tasks.
- Capability to navigate various settings and overcome architectural barriers.
- Ability to utilize public transportation for commuting.
- On-site work required Monday through Thursday.
- High-speed internet connection (300 Mbps or higher) with secure Wi-Fi.
- A dedicated workspace with minimal interruptions to ensure confidentiality of PHI and HIPAA information.
- Must be able to sit and use a computer keyboard for extended periods.
