About the Role

Garver is seeking a highly skilled Process Mechanical Team Leader to join our Water Design Center team in Harlingen, TX. As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of professionals responsible for designing water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and other ancillary infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality designs that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of water and wastewater treatment processes, including process equipment evaluation, sizing, and cost estimation.
  • Develop and implement hydraulic models to optimize water and wastewater treatment plant performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver comprehensive solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) and 8 or more years of direct design experience with municipal water and wastewater facilities.
  • Two or more years of experience leading project teams and overseeing facility designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects.
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant systems in a facility-wide environment and experience with hydraulic modeling software.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Master's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program.
  • Certification as a Pump Systems Assessment Professional and Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in several states, including TX, OK, NM, AZ, CO.
  • 10 years or more of experience with municipal water and wastewater related design and five or more years of experience leading project teams.
  • Relationships with municipal clients in Garver's footprint and a record of active participation in professional organizations such as AWWA, WEF, WRF.
