We are responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of innovative materials, technologies, and concepts that empower the most lethal, intelligent, and collaborative systems to penetrate and operate in hostile airspace without detection. Our work involves close collaboration with various engineering disciplines to design, develop, manufacture, and sustain these systems. Our responsibilities encompass the entire Systems Engineering lifecycle—from research and development to modeling and analysis, from static/component testing to dynamic flight testing, and from manufacturing support to field repairs and maintenance. We operate across multiple spectrums—from RF (Radio Frequency) to IR (Infrared) and Visual, to Acoustic. Our engineers enjoy the opportunity to work in diverse environments—at desks, in specialized labs, at indoor and outdoor test ranges, and at operational locations abroad. Our team is crucial to the success of our cornerstone programs and future initiatives, and your role would be equally vital to our organizational success. Without Survivability Engineers, there is no Low in Low Observable. Without us, there is no Stealth in Stealth Bomber.
Core Competencies:
- Utilize cutting-edge classified technology to minimize aircraft detectability across electromagnetic, infrared, visual, and acoustic spectrums.
- Forecast design performance using proprietary analysis tools.
- Engage in hands-on verification of predictions and designs through the construction and testing of physical models.
- Optimize designs for Stealth while adhering to requirements from all engineering disciplines.
- Assume responsibility for achieving customer objectives while balancing design in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.
- Excel in a fast-paced work setting with high expectations, diverse assignments, and extensive collaboration.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong grasp of infrared radiation physics related to aircraft survivability.
- Experience in infrared signature analysis utilizing test data and/or infrared simulation tools.
- Experience in laboratory and/or in-flight testing of infrared technologies and materials.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, etc.
- Proficiency in NX and/or other computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and technical writing skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients.
- A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance is required to start, along with active Special Access Programs (SAPs).
- Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Principal Infrared Survivability Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
- Sr Principal Infrared Survivability Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced understanding of infrared radiation physics as it pertains to aircraft survivability, along with relevant technologies and materials.
- Extensive knowledge of thin film material design, fabrication, and qualification processes.
- Expertise in the design, planning, and execution of both laboratory and in-flight testing of infrared technologies and materials.
- General understanding of aircraft radar signatures and radar cross-section reduction techniques.
- Experience with proposal writing and project cost estimation.
- Experience in project and/or supply-chain management.
- A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Compensation and Benefits:
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
