The Patient Services Specialist I plays a vital role in creating a positive patient experience by delivering exceptional customer service and patient care. This position coordinates clerical and medical activities of a healthcare team, patient registration, and facilitates access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide high-level customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers, ensuring patient satisfaction and safety.
- Scheduling: Schedule appointments, complete reminder calls, and coordinate financial counseling for day surgery.
- Arrival and Registration: Arrive patients, prepare paperwork/chart for visit, and verify eligibility and pre-register patients by obtaining patient demographics and third-party coverage.
- Associate degree and no experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role.
- Preferred qualifications: experience with patient registration, patient appointment scheduling, and/or insurance verification.
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion.
