Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist I to join our team at UTMB Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for creating a positive patient experience by consistently exceeding expectations in customer service and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers.
- Coordinate clerical and medical activities of a healthcare team, patient registration activities, and facilitate access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.
- Schedule appointments and complete reminder calls to patients for scheduled appointments.
- Coordinate financial counseling for day surgery and educate patients/responsible parties regarding billing process and any additional financial responsibilities.
- Obtain future appointments at time of service for clinic follow-up, referrals, and ancillary services.
Requirements:
- Associate degree and no experience.
- Preferred qualifications: experience with patient registration, patient appointment scheduling, and/or insurance verification.
