About the Role

CGL LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Trades Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing general maintenance and repair services to our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Respond to service requests in a timely and efficient manner, including emergency maintenance situations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure that machines operate smoothly and efficiently, and physical conditions of the buildings do not deteriorate.
  • Assist in emergency maintenance situations, including sewage back-ups, water main and/or lateral breaks, fires, and other types of water leaks.
  • Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Check blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to determine the work to be performed and resources required.
  • Operate plant equipment and building automation systems to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in a ready state, and perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Read and utilize blueprints, plans, drawings, and sketches to determine the work to be performed and resources required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Trade certification preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment preferred.
  • General knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical work, including lifting weights of up to 50 pounds regularly and above 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts and be a team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Certifications may be required at time of hire and/or obtained within required timeframe.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
