Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing direct advocacy for victims of abuse/neglect, maintaining current programmatic knowledge of child-specific and hearing-related information, and establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform direct advocacy for victims of abuse/neglect within the assigned judicial circuit, ensuring compliance with law, policy, and program objectives regarding the best interest of children.
  • Maintain current programmatic knowledge of child-specific and hearing-related information in assigned caseload, completing monthly monitoring reports and inputting data into the database.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the Department of Social Services, Family Court, and other child-serving agencies.
  • Assist the coordinator with the supervision/management of volunteers, volunteer training sessions, and recruitment efforts as caseload decreases.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
  • Employee should be computer literate, have strong verbal and writing skills, and possess a strong ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Data input experience and good time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to exercise sound and objective judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree.
