About the Role:
The Idaho Division of Human Resources is looking for dedicated individuals to fill the role of Roving Crew Inspector. This position is crucial in safeguarding our natural resources and promoting environmental stewardship.
Position Overview:The successful candidates will be responsible for performing inspections and decontaminations of watercraft at various recreational sites. This role is essential in preventing the introduction and spread of invasive species, thereby protecting Idaho's ecosystems.
Important Notes:
This role operates outside of traditional state service classifications, providing a unique and dynamic work experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and decontaminations of watercraft.
- Follow established protocols to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Engage in quality control measures at inspection sites.
- Educate the public on proper watercraft maintenance and conservation practices.
- Participate in outreach initiatives to promote aquatic conservation.
- Carry out early detection sampling for plankton.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail during inspections.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work under watercraft.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience in aquatic biology, ecology, or field inspections.
- Familiarity with pressure washing equipment.
- Ability to work independently in remote locations.
- Knowledge of trailer operation.
