About the Role:


The Idaho Division of Human Resources is seeking temporary Roving Crew Inspectors to support the Plant Industries division. This position is crucial in safeguarding our natural resources and promoting environmental stewardship.

Job Overview:


The role involves conducting inspections and decontaminations of watercraft at various recreational sites to mitigate the spread of invasive species. Your efforts will play a vital role in preserving Idaho's ecological integrity.


Special Notification:
This position operates outside the traditional state service framework, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and decontaminations of watercraft
  • Implement established protocols to ensure effective inspection procedures
  • Perform quality control measures at inspection stations
  • Educate the public on watercraft maintenance and environmental preservation
  • Participate in outreach initiatives promoting aquatic conservation
  • Conduct early detection sampling for plankton
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail during inspections
  • Able to work in various weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and maneuvering under watercraft
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aquatic biology, ecology, or field inspections
  • Familiarity with pressure washing equipment
  • Ability to operate independently in remote locations
  • Knowledge of trailer operation
