Finance and Accounting Leadership Program: Accounting Externship

Fifth Third Bank's Finance and Accounting Externship Program offers college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance and accounting. As an extern, you will work on real-world projects, develop your skills, and build a professional network.
Program OverviewThe 10-week program is designed for sophomore students pursuing a business concentration, with a preference for accounting majors. You will work on projects that support the Cincinnati market, learning Fifth Third Bank's business practices, operations, and procedures. You will also have the opportunity to participate in social and networking activities, and receive mentoring from industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Complete special projects at the direction of Assignment Leader
- Build, analyze, and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Provide analysis for monthly forecasting process for the business
- Support the annual budgeting process
- Perform financial variance analysis to identify trends in the business
- Sophomore student currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a business concentration (accounting major preferred)
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Basic Excel proficiency (data entry, formatting, charts, basic formulas, Vlookup)
- Campus involvement/leadership experience
- Relevant internship/co-op experience
- Ability to complete both guided and self-directed learning activities
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future
