Senior Care Specialist - Medication Aide Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Medication Aide to join our team as a Travel Medication Aide. This role offers a unique chance to work in various locations within a 150-mile radius from home, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.

About the Role

This opportunity allows a Medication Aide to travel locally while working in various Good Samaritan Society locations. As a Travel Medication Aide, you will provide age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents, delivering high-quality care with compassion and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
  • Document the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate changing condition, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum age of 18 preferred.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of a record of continuing education credits for each year.
  • A minimum of 12 hours of continuing education required annually based on state requirements.
  • Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications.

Estimated Salary: $18.50 - $28.00 per hour.
