As a vital member of the Sehealth team, the Patient Account Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient billing inquiries and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with patients regarding their billing inquiries, both in person and via phone.
- Process financial assistance applications and maintain accurate logs.
- Conduct follow-up calls to provide updates on account statuses.
- Establish and oversee patient payment plans to facilitate timely payments.
- Handle incoming calls efficiently, directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Process patient payments, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage account transfers between billing and bad debt statuses as needed.
- Address accounts for deceased patients with sensitivity and care.
- Prepare legal accounts in accordance with established protocols.
- Process self-pay credits and refunds accurately.
- Act as a liaison between self-pay accounts and bad debt vendors.
- Facilitate employee payroll deductions as required.
- Contribute to a positive first impression for every patient interaction.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Preferred two years of experience in a medical or business office environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to research and analyze data efficiently.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
- Proficient in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
