As a vital member of the Sehealth team, the Patient Account Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient billing inquiries and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with patients regarding their billing inquiries, both in person and via phone.
  • Process financial assistance applications and maintain accurate logs.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to provide updates on account statuses.
  • Establish and oversee patient payment plans to facilitate timely payments.
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently, directing them to the appropriate departments.
  • Process patient payments, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage account transfers between billing and bad debt statuses as needed.
  • Address accounts for deceased patients with sensitivity and care.
  • Prepare legal accounts in accordance with established protocols.
  • Process self-pay credits and refunds accurately.
  • Act as a liaison between self-pay accounts and bad debt vendors.
  • Facilitate employee payroll deductions as required.
  • Contribute to a positive first impression for every patient interaction.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Preferred two years of experience in a medical or business office environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to research and analyze data efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
