Lead Environmental Services Technician

Clean Harbors is looking for a dedicated Lead Environmental Services Technician to become part of our safety-focused team. This position will involve hands-on work in the field, executing tasks related to hazardous waste management, site restoration, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous substances, with minimal supervision required. A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is essential. Experience in waste management, logistics coordination, and knowledge of DOT hazardous materials is highly desirable. This role typically operates Monday through Friday, with an average start time between 6-7 am, and generally involves 8-10+ hour workdays, with overtime available after 40 hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to policies and procedures, and consistently acting in a safe manner.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
  • Operate both light and heavy machinery, utilizing various hand tools and powered industrial equipment.
  • Wear and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other protective gear.
  • Work in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors, under varying weather conditions.
  • Handle tasks in settings that may expose you to hazardous, toxic, or corrosive materials.
  • Manage tasks in potentially noisy environments and confined spaces, including lifting in low-clearance areas.
  • Perform field sampling and assist in the calibration of measurement devices.
  • Climb ladders and scaffolding, and safely enter and exit vehicles and containers.
  • Be prepared to work extended hours as needed.
  • Participate in compliance and safety meetings regularly.
  • Inspect containers for integrity and compliance with regulations.
  • Safely load and unload both hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as required.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including worksheets and inspections.
  • Follow all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with all transportation regulations.
  • Adhere to corporate operational guidelines and environmental health and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Be available for on-call emergency response on a rotating basis.
  • May be responsible for lead duties as required.

Qualifications:Required:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergency situations, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Field Service Technician role.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as outlined in job responsibilities.
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
  • Compliance with OSHA's Respiratory Protection standards, including facial hair regulations.
