Barback Duties Include:

  • Replace empty kegs in the keg storage area, which involves moving full kegs of beer.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized workspace by cleaning spills and disposing of trash.
  • Organize bar supplies and drinkware efficiently.
  • Ensure the bar area is cleared and cleaned promptly.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and friendly customer service.
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, and with a sense of humor with colleagues and patrons.
  • Complete all assigned side tasks diligently.
Barback Qualifications:
  • Experience in food service with a solid understanding of bar and nightclub operations.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for interactions with guests, kitchen staff, servers, and management.
  • Possession of alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as mandated by local or state authorities.
  • Reading and writing skills are frequently utilized for taking orders and completing necessary documentation.
  • Basic mathematical skills are regularly applied.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.
The Barback Role Requires:
  • The ability to handle, carry, or lift items weighing up to 200 pounds (such as kegs, ice, glasses, trays, etc.).
  • Efficient and safe movement throughout the facility.
  • Effective and safe handling of food, objects, products, and utensils.
  • Capability to bend, stand, stoop, and kneel as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to potential temperature changes in the work environment.
