PacifiCorp Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our team at PacifiCorp. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance to our business units, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal assessments, interpretations, and recommendations on corporate policies and issues.
  • Represent the company in formal regulatory hearings and board meetings.
  • Develop and present recommendations to senior management on courses of action to ensure compliance with applicable legal authority and minimize legal risks.
  • Oversee, select, and direct outside legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Manage attorneys and other legal staff as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of eight years of related experience in a law firm, government, or corporate legal department.
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience and knowledge with legal and/or regulatory issues.
  • Familiarity with the political and legal implications of decisions made by the company.
  • Management skills, including the ability to negotiate with and influence peers and senior officers on policy and strategic issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
