Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist II to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. This role is responsible for performing general patient access duties in a centralized call center environment, promoting positive outcomes for providers, clinic staff, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify demographics and register patients in Epic, ensuring accurate and timely registration.
  • Obtain and verify insurance coverage, securing patient account reimbursement and reducing eligibility denials.
  • Schedule patient appointments and promote MyChart activation, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Provide basic information in response to patient questions, following established procedures to ensure all registration guidelines and requirements are met.
Requirements
  • One year of customer service work experience, with a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of patient registration and insurance verification processes, as well as medical terminology and Epic software.
