Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience as a military submarine ordnance officer, including operations at submarine and Strategic Weapons Facility (SWF), emergency management planning, and assessments of nuclear surety and security policies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and formulating policy guidance related to nuclear weapon safety, security, and reliability, along with familiarity with associated programs.
  • Background in Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspections, Nuclear Weapons Incident Response Capability, and Nuclear Weapon Surety.
  • Knowledge of nuclear weapon safety, security, training, radiological controls, and operations pertaining to OHIO class submarines and SWF policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for both junior and senior audiences.
  • Technical skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Access and Visual Basic is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Surety Analyst will conduct independent evaluations, offering insights, recommendations, and solutions regarding Navy Nuclear Deterrence Mission (NNDM) and nuclear weapon surety policies and directives. Additionally, this role will facilitate the training of personnel involved in nuclear weapon surety.

Specific tasks include: coordinating policy development efforts, supporting project planning and execution, participating in meetings alongside SSP personnel, and leading events with subject matter expertise. Responsibilities also encompass drafting formal communications on policy interpretations, reviewing training policies, compiling stakeholder feedback on draft policies, conducting special studies related to surety performance and compliance, and assisting with long-term planning and communication efforts, including the preparation of reports, correspondence, and briefings.
