Job Overview

Position: IT Support Technician

OrthoAlaska is in search of a proficient and committed IT Support Technician to become a part of our expanding and vibrant team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist staff in diagnosing and resolving computer-related issues, provide support for both hardware and software challenges, and conduct end-user training.

Work Schedule: Typically Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with adjustments based on organizational needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficient understanding of operating systems, word processing, database management, spreadsheet software, email systems, network environments, and diagnostic tools.

• Familiarity with computer training methodologies and customer service principles.

• Expertise in computer software, hardware, and troubleshooting methods.

Core Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer and IT Director to configure new computers; install, reconfigure, or reinstall operating systems and applications.

• Facilitate the setup and training of new employees on computer systems, software, and other technological equipment.

• Provide Level 1 technical support to employees for phones, computers, hardware peripherals, printers, and business-related software.

• Assist staff with establishing and maintaining access to electronic medical record portals.

• Document and track all computer-related issues, detailing corrective actions taken using the company's ticket tracking system.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems, word processing, database applications, spreadsheet software, email systems, network environments, and diagnostic tools.

• Understanding of computer training techniques and customer service principles.

• Proficient in computer software, hardware, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional demeanor, approachable, and capable of putting patients at ease.

• Team-oriented mindset.

• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of two years of experience in IT technical support or related fields, preferably within the healthcare sector.
