Job Summary:

As a Clinic Technician with UAB Health System, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and escort patients from the waiting area to treatment rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
• Perform various medical testing procedures, including vital signs, urine specimens, and height/weight measurements, as directed by physicians, RNs/LPNs, or pre-designated protocols.
• Prepare and collect charge tickets, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely processing.
• Answer and document patient phone calls, providing medical information and test results while maintaining constant contact with attending physicians, RNs/LPNs.
• Perform a range of duties requiring independent judgment and decision-making skills, ensuring patient rooms and instruments are clean and stocked with required supplies.
• Order and maintain clinic supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and organized environment.
• Perform pre-load responsibilities based on clinic needs, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• One year of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Self-directed, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, recognize patient confidentiality, and convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain or distress.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with the ability to perform effectively in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated quality work ethic and commitment to doing the right thing the right way.
• Ability to maintain a customer focus and strive to satisfy the customer's perceived needs.
