Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by preparing nutritious meals for our patients, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare meals for patients, staff, and guests, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Oversee food preparation, including choosing quality ingredients, following food temperature and time control guidelines, and maintaining a clean and safe food preparation area.
  • Review and update menus, budgets, patient nutritional needs, and recipe files to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of nutritional services and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the culinary arts, including baking, cooking, salad preparation, and procurement and storage of foodstuff.
  • Serve Safe Certification or similar sanitary certification/training preferred.
