About the Role

Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking a skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our Foster Care team. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to foster families, helping them navigate the complexities of caring for children with high acuity needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each child. You will work closely with foster parents, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to foster parents, including regular home visits and phone calls
  • Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting children and families
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract foster families interested in caring for children with special needs
  • Participate in regular supervision and support with the client and therapeutic foster parents
Requirements
  • Master's degree in human services or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting
  • Professional license in LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW preferred
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license
