**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer - Mechanical Division to join our team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a key member of our mechanical engineering group, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative solutions for our laboratory's diverse facilities and infrastructure systems.

**About the Job:

  • Assess and improve existing facilities and infrastructure systems.
  • Generate design scopes, estimate efforts, and interface with stakeholders.
  • Adhere to LANL's Engineering Standards, Conduct of Engineering, and prevailing codes and standards.
  • Mentor junior design personnel.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, 3 years of practical work experience, and knowledge of engineering principles, facility mechanical engineering systems, and industry codes and standards.

Preferred qualifications include DOE standards, LANL engineering processes, AutoCAD drafting software, and registration as an Engineer-Intern or Professional Engineer.

**Compensation and Benefits:

Los Alamos National Laboratory offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, dental and vision insurance, free life and disability insurance, and an award-winning 401(k) plan.

**Clearance and Security:

Q-level clearance is required for this position. A background investigation and eligibility requirements apply. New-employment drug test required. Substance abuse policy in place.
