About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Los Alamos, New Mexico. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems. You will work closely with our project managers and engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including piping and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, and control system designs
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for new projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are aligned with company goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical system failures and recommend corrective actions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including piping, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
