About the Role

Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos LLC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Design Expert to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, constructing, inspecting, and accepting testing of engineered systems.

You will work closely with our operations, maintenance, and project management teams to provide day-to-day engineering support. Your expertise will be crucial in providing solutions to complex technical problems, coordinating completion of milestones, and preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for design packages.

Estimated Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per annum

Responsibilities
  • Design, fabricate, construct, inspect, and accept test engineered systems.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to operations, maintenance, and project management organizations.
  • Develop maintenance requirements for systems and equipment.
  • Assess compliance of existing systems and identify corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or other engineering discipline from an ABET university.
  • Nine (9) years in responsible charge of mechanical engineering work and relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of nuclear experience preferred, but not required.
