Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Designer to join our Industrial team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality designs that meet our clients' needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine and analyze clients' needs and requirements to develop effective electrical design solutions.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete design requirements and develop project schedules and budgets.
  • Design electrical components and systems for industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and assign electrical design job functions to designated designers and engineers, supervising their efforts to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Produce contract documents, including drawings and specifications, and review designs, proposals, shop drawings, and contractor comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria.
  • Perform calculations and complete layouts and arrangements, and prepare project cost and schedule estimates.
  • Visit construction sites to observe existing conditions and identify solutions to problems that may arise during construction.
  • Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs and report findings and recommendations.
  • Provide technical assistance when problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to identify, define, and solve design issues.
  • Review preliminary and final electrical design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.
  • Review design deliverables for constructability, check shop drawings for compliance with design documents, and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Answer RFIs from contractors during construction, perform construction inspections, and develop final punch lists.
  • Write commissioning procedures and assist in starting up and commissioning of communication, security, instrumentation, and controls projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design for facility and infrastructure projects, including the design of power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems.
  • High school diploma, but a degree in Applied Science/Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural/Engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous design and detailing experience using REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with lighting calculation software such as AGI, ElumTools, and/or Visual.
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM Powertools or ETAP.
