CT Imaging Specialist

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of supervisory staff, the CT Technologist is responsible for executing Computed Tomography (CT) imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols. This role involves preparing patients both physically and psychologically, ensuring the safe operation of imaging equipment, and maintaining a professional demeanor throughout the process. The technologist adheres to National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), which necessitate the use of two patient identifiers for each imaging session. Compliance with radiation safety standards and immunology protocols is paramount. Additionally, the technologist may work alongside clinical students as needed, while continuously enhancing their knowledge and proficiency in routine diagnostic CT imaging. Adherence to HIPAA regulations and corporate compliance standards is essential. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
A graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. A minimum of one year of experience in Computed Tomography (CT) is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient understanding of CT imaging procedures, CT scanning equipment, radiation safety protocols, universal precautions, immunology standards, and general office technology. Ability to apply knowledge of CT scanners and imaging techniques to conduct both contrast and non-contrast studies across various anatomical regions. Competence in ensuring all imaging adheres to safety regulations and universal precautions. Capable of completing documentation accurately and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proficient in reading, writing legibly, and communicating effectively in English (Spanish proficiency is a plus). Familiarity with necessary software applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records, is essential. Strong ability to follow instructions, communicate positively and professionally, enforce policies consistently, lead and mentor others, think critically, and collaborate with licensed healthcare providers as needed. Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are crucial. Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Certifications and Licenses:
Must hold certification as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and IV certification. Eligibility for the Computed Tomography (CT) ARRT Registry is required, with completion expected within six months of hire. ARRT (CT) certification must be obtained within twelve months of hire.
