Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Specialist Advanced works under the supervision of the Chief Technologist of Nuclear Medicine at Loma Linda University. This role performs all imaging procedures offered in the Nuclear Medicine Department, maintaining and performing defined quality control on all equipment used. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for patient safety while providing high-quality techniques. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program is required. The ideal candidate will be able to operate all equipment in the scanning areas and perform various tests with that equipment. They will also be able to teach students, instruct patients, communicate with physicians and co-workers, and use computer and software programs necessary to the position.

The successful candidate will be able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others, be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies, work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate. They will also be able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone, think critically, work independently with minimal supervision, perform basic math functions, manage multiple assignments effectively, work well under pressure, problem solve, organize and prioritize workload, recall information with accuracy, and pay close attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will hold Basic Life Support certification and be certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), and State of California - Certified Technologist - Nuclear Medicine. ARRT Certified Technologist (CT) and State of California - Radiologic Technologist are preferred.
