Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team to ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion.
  • Collaborate with governing agencies to ensure code compliance and facilitate reviews.
  • Manage workload to complete multiple projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits with the Project Manager and other disciplines to ensure project progress.
  • Review mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment, and mechanical systems and devices.
  • Provide construction contract administration support by reviewing mechanical submittals, RFIs, change orders, and incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents.
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators, or Mechanical CAD Technicians as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
  • Industrial, data center, or municipal experience preferred.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design and energy-efficient design.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities.
  • Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software, manufacturer selection software.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
