About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA. As a Mechanical Engineer - Hydropower Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems for hydropower facilities, working closely with our team of experts to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for hydropower facilities, including pumps, turbines, and generators
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation for mechanical systems
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in mechanical engineering for hydropower facilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design for renewable energy projects
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards, including IMC/UMC, NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE, and ASHRAE
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working in consulting firms and hydro, solar, wind, biomass, and thermal projects
  • Engineer license (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or California preferred)
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR preferred)
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
