The Finance Department is in search of a full-time Senior Accountant to enhance our financial operations. This role entails performing a variety of professional accounting functions related to finance, including financial analysis, forecasting, and delivering comprehensive data insights. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for compiling and preparing numerous finance-related reports and summaries, reporting directly to the Controller of Finance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Evaluate business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future financial performance.
  • Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring timely correction of errors for month-end closing and reviewing monthly financial ledgers of assigned accounts.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and perform detailed analyses.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, producing periodic reports that compare budgeted figures to actual expenditures.
  • Prepare journal entries and conduct reviews to verify the accuracy of financial data.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of fixed asset ledgers and perform depreciation analyses, addressing any discrepancies between budgeted and forecasted amounts.
  • Monitor Capital Projects budgets for new initiatives, including the setup of budget forms and necessary adjustments.
  • Generate monthly Capital Budget Reports and detailed summaries.
  • Manage intercompany advances and related receivables.
  • Review investment accounts and prepare various financial analyses.
  • Process check requests, purchase orders, and vouchers for payment.
  • Maintain budgeting systems that provide controls for expenditures, reporting financial status to management regarding departmental programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Financial Results Package and conduct various analyses.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Healthcare Accounting.
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • In-depth knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures sufficient to compile comprehensive financial reports.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
