About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Agency Executive to join our team in Macon, Georgia. As the Deputy Director of the Georgia Forestry Commission, you will play a critical role in leading efforts to create an environment and culture focused on fulfilling the agency's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the agency's daily operations and ensure sufficient communication of information between all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as the director's primary coordinator for evaluating projects and programs, determining the level of resources to be allocated, and providing oversight in the management of those resources when implemented.
  • Define, develop, and implement effective strategies for moving the organization forward.
  • Measure and identify the critical success factors necessary to reach goals and required results and achieve the vision.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a 4-year degree in forestry, natural resources, business, or a related field and seven years of progressive experience managing professional-level staff or ten years of related professional experience with seven years of progressive management experience at the level equivalent to the area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of operational activities such as fire control, forest management, equipment used, and agency processes.
  • Broad knowledge of organizational areas; ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, situations, and business processes.
Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
