Business Operations Support Specialist

Job Overview
NFP Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Business Operations Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will provide critical support to Account Managers and other business partners in the daily management of Property & Casualty policies.
In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently executing agency processes, analyzing financial reports, and communicating with clients and carrier contacts. You will also assist in various departments within NFP, including Accounting, Risk Placement Specialists, and processing.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and able to adapt to changing scenarios, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain exposure to clients and carrier contacts; attend all department/team meetings and required calls.
- Assist a wide range of other departments within NFP – Accounting, Account Managers, Risk Placement Specialists, and processing.
- Pull policy correspondence reports from carrier websites and manage carrier email delivery of similar reports.
- Utilize agency management system to provide quality control check-in of new business/renewal policies, endorsements, audits, etc...against account management activity.
- Input and communicate appropriately, notice of cancellations, non-renewals, etc.
- Operate a variety of standard office machines, including personal computers with a variety of software, phone, fax, calculator, and shredding photocopy, and mail machines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people.
- Working knowledge of the insurance industry is desired but not required.
- Knowledge using Applied/EPIC, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is desired but not required.
- Attention to details.
- Able to coordinate resources and responsibilities.
- May be required to work overtime only if necessary.
- Able to adapt and structure work duties so all work is completed timely and efficiently.
- Self-confident to make sound independent decisions.
- Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people.
- Team player, adaptive to mentoring and continual learning.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and reconcile financial reports.
- Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- May be required to work overtime as necessary.
- Must have basic Excel and Word knowledge and efficiency.
Education and Experience:
- High School or equivalent.
- More than 2 years related data-entry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Applied Epic experience preferred but not required.
Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year.
