Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Inpatient Care Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, ensuring the physical, psychological, social, emotional, safety, and security needs of our patients are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Greeting and Support: Greet, assist, and/or redirect patients, physicians, employees, and the general public in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Personal Care and Hygiene: Perform delegated direct patient care, including partial and complete bed baths, provide and/or perform/assist with oral hygiene, shampooing, shaving, eye care, and positioning.
  3. Environmental Services: Maintain the bed and room in a clean, neat, and comfortable manner, removing supplies and equipment not in use.
  4. Vital Signs and Intake/Output: Obtain and record vital signs, measure and record intake and output information, collect required specimens, care for drainage tubes, catheter care, peri-care, post-operative care, isolation precautions, patient transfers, and other procedures as needed.
  5. Education and Communication: Explain care to be performed to patients and families, and respond to patient and family calls in a timely manner (within 5 minutes).
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Document care given to patients utilizing the electronic medical record, and perform blood sugar checks using the glucometer.
  7. Supply Management: Order and stock supplies as needed.
  8. Emergency Response: Communicate unusual or emergent situations to the RN in a timely manner, and actively protect patients and self by following OSHA and other standards reviewed in annual training.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Assistant in good standing within the State of Kansas.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
  • One year of experience as a CNA in an acute care facility or with acute care patients, with a preference for ortho, neuro, or critical care experience.
