Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Engineer, your daily tasks will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Achieving safety objectives for assigned projects while identifying best practices and areas for enhancement.
  • Overseeing project engineering responsibilities, including review and coordination of shop drawings and submittals, material ordering, sequencing, and resolving layout discrepancies.
  • Assisting in concrete and civil estimating processes, which involve quantity takeoffs, proposal development, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Contributing to project planning by devising civil and concrete methodologies, schedules, and coordinating with subcontractors.
  • Supporting project superintendents and craft foremen in project execution and daily management.
  • Collaborating with Project and Assistant Project Managers on subcontractor/vendor agreements and scope execution.
  • Estimating and documenting additional work, ensuring proper tracking of changes and updates.
  • Maintaining and managing comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, safety records, and logs.
  • Working with the project team to create project schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Implementing Civil and Concrete Strategic Planning initiatives and ensuring adherence to strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the construction industry, with relevant internships considered.
  • Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience that aligns with the role.

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, while effectively planning and organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in following directives, taking accountability for actions, and fulfilling commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to team-based problem-solving.

Work Environment:

The majority of work occurs at construction sites and in office trailers where project oversight and daily decisions are made. The role may involve exposure to construction equipment and requires the use of personal protective equipment on-site. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, and lift materials as necessary.
